The cut will be followed by prompt reactions to the special. Don't expect anything to bright from me right now.
I'm kinda confused with the outcome and have some questions, too:
Okay, first things first:
- Too dark and insane for my taste! (Sums it up the best, I guess.)
& I have to ask this:
Are they trying to make us dislike the figure esp. TENNANT embodies?
I mean, timelord fine. But Timelord Victorious? God Complex anyone? Geeeh! I know he gets a good ticking-off just minutes after it, so I assume he changes his attitude again, later. But really? Is anyone buying this?
And I gotta say: Although they used that device kinda often with Ten, I liked the twist after all.
Battle Time VS. Timelord No. 20937
Round 1: (Doctor) Everything only happens because I interfere. I must not interfere!
Round 2: (Doctor) FUCK THIS. I'M MESSING WITH TIME AND YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
Round 3: (Time strikes back) Things just happen the way they were meant to be.
Round 4: (Doctor) Oh damn, everything sucks again = FAIL
Round 5: TIME WINS YET AGAIN.
Oh, and one thing more: WHY is 10 so overly WHINY about death?
Could someone logically explain that to me?
I mean, 9 was laughing and said the process was a bit dodgy. But 10? Oh boy. He's already boring me with this.
What's the big deal with changing once again? He doesn't have A LOT of people who'd care if he changed anyway.(That might seem little sympathetic for the figure of the doctor. But it is still true!!)
Now let me continue with a quick
Random-Thoughts-Check...
Things that were awesome about the episode:
- Chillin' on Mars? BRILLIANT.
- Janitor Doctor? Lovable! ♥
- Creatures? Scared the shit out of me. Kinda appeals to one of the three things I can't stand in horror movies: distorted antics [the other two being a) clowns and b) religion/devil-related symbols]
- Ten's hero complex: I gotta go, I gotta go, I gotta go *stays* => Though I must say it got kinda long-winded and lengthy in the end.
- DOG ROBOTS ROCK, GUYS!
- Male Nurses F.T.W!!
- Doubtful doctor is heartwarming (aaaaand at the same time annoying.)
- LOTR-like music. WTF? Everything looks cool if you use epic music to underline it
Not so brilliant things:
-Superfast robot car?? Waaay to much over the top!
- Most people of the crew. Kinda lame, flat, shallow??
- Water always wins? No real catch-phrase and a bit dull, if you ask me. Sounds like it was written juuuust for the trailer.
- Armageddon theme. Seriously.. it's getting old and will not improve with being used over and OVER again.
- Maso doc is MASO. They showed him for more than 10 minutes just..walking away... that's like 6 % of the special. Erm, unnecessary?
- Bigger on the inside was lame the last two times someone said it. Didn't even move me to a painful smirk.
Also, am I wrong to assume a logically error here?
Robot + water = wet Robot
Wet Robot + Tardis = Water in the spaceship and thus on Earth in no time
=>DANGER NONTHELESS?
To sum it up:
Yet another pointless episode in space. I think I will never be a fan of this motif. Tenannt does a good job but the plot-line disappointed me a bit.
